We have lived in our home for 5 months now, it was built in 1955, with a sunroom addition added later,with the recent freezing weather we had to crawl in crawl space to place heating tape, and noticed the house foundation is shot.It is a fieldstone foundation with the mortar just falling out from between the bricks.we now see the cracks on the inside walls getting larger month to month,and are worried we will lose our house because the foundation is literally crumbling from under us.Does anyone know if this can be fixed, will it be covered by insurance, or did we buy the money pit?
