Someone told me to try boat paint on a fiberglass shower stall, as well as fiberglass faux tiles in our older home. Being intriqued by the idea, I went to a boat store and talked to the owner. He verified the story and told me that he has used it himself for his own family in an older home. He said it should be repainted every few years, but to basically follow the directions on the can.
So far, we have used it on the tiles and it worked fabulously. The paint does not chip and has endured shower after shower during a period of several months.
Be sure to purchase paint that is made for fiberglass boats, not wooden boats. Also, you will need to allow the paint to completely dry, which can take some time. Hopefully you have more than one bathtub or shower in the house so you can take this project on and give it the proper time it takes.
Good luck! Was this post helpful? Yes: or No:
