Refinishing a parquet floor

: Hi, I am thinking of refinishing the wooden parquet floor which I discovered upon removing an old carpet. I have a few easy questions on the topic : : 1) The wood has not had any product applied to it (finish, etc.), but it has some water and other stains. What strengths of sandpaper should I use? : 2) The wood is only 7mm thick, is this safe to sand? : 3) Can I do this myself, or is it too advanced? : If you can answer any of these questions, it would be most appreciated.
