garage door tension springs

replace when they get so weak that they are under tension when the door is fully open. the springs are to be adjusted to hold the door when it is 3-3.5 feet off the floor. this will normally release all tension on the springs when the door is fully open. a SAFTY TIP install security cables thru the springs, then there is no danger of injury or damage from flying springs if they ever break. it is not code that securty cables be installed on all new installations of garage doors
