A friend of mine would like to have a wooden counter top constructed for her kithchen. The only thing that is commercially available, locally, is a maple butcher block material. My friend is interested in a country look so her preference is for something made out of pine. Is it feasible to construct a counter top out of pine with a urethane finish? The counter would be L shaped with a mitered corner, receive a sink insert, and a stove unit. Any thoughts, words of advice etc.?
