Chamberlain manufactures remotes and operators for various brand and under numerous lines. For example, all Sears Craftsman machines, Master Mechanic, Liftmaster, Chamberlain and more are all the same. To identify your replacement remote, it is quite easy and these rule apply for all the above brands. Units manufactured from 1982-1992 used the 60 series remotes (61LM, 61CB, 61MM...), from 1993-1996, those units used the Billion Code seires or the 80 series (81LM, 81CB, 81MM...), from 1997 on up the Security+ format was used in the 390MHZ frequency. Chamberlain is now changing their format again because of the new federal regulations coming into effect by 2008 (see Military over taking garage door frequencies article), those will still be Security+ type of format (code rotating), but will now operate in the 315MHZ frequency. The Chamberlain group will be offering upgrade kits for customers who run into garage opener remote control interference. For more info check out the upgrade kit page at the following link:

Hope this helps!
