Marble floor care.

Hi,
We are considering laying Marble floors in our home, Antique, rustic look marble, looks more stone like, without the glossy shiney look. I am worried though they may stain easier or be more difficult to clean.
Anyone out there have any experience with caring for this type of floor? Also what type of sealent should we put on it,prefer one that does not shine? All tips & advice most appreciated.
Also any tips on how to get red felt tip pen marks out of a cream marble coffee table?
