The best way to deal with odors in wood is to seal them in. You do this by applying a coat of shellac to the wood in the problem area.
You might check out some of the information at www.zinsser.com but you should be able to seal the odor in with their Bull's Eye Sealer and Finish cut in half with denatured alcohol. You want to have the shellac be less than a year old per the manufacturing date that's usually on the bottom of the can. Since you will be working in an area that may be restricted and there will be a lot of alcohol fumes, you want to work with VERY GOOD ventilation and, at the same time, turn off everything in the area with a flame or that creates sparks. Be sure that you follow all the label directions. You will want to take out all of the drawers and cover both the interior framing of your cabinets and the drawers themselves.
The shellac will have a clear finish effect and you will barely be able to tell that it is there after it's dry. Shellac is also a safe product to use. While you don't really want to eat it, it is used in a more purified form in medical pills to hold them together. No doubt you have already eaten shellac and not known it.
