it seems like common sense that the condenser being in the shade makes it more efficent.this is not true.it doesn't make any difference.
when you do decide to get one get the highest seer rating you can get and make sure you get a 410A unit as opposed to an r22 even though they still can be purchased.
don't put it on the roof unless you absolutly have to.
