rusting light fixtures

The metal components in my light fixtures on all three floors of my relatively new (2 years old) former model home have begun to rust prematurely and there is a foul smell associated with the light fixtures. Any ideas as to the cause of this rusting... Other metal components outside of the light fixtures in my house seem fine... Was this post helpful? Yes: or No:
