Other than dishsoap, I wouldn't try anything caustic or abusive to remove the ring. What you do may damage the countertop.

There are lots of links on the WEB about how to care for you countertops. Contact your installer for SPECIFIC instructions on how to care for your tops. You don't want to void any warranty ...
