I have a railing that is attached to column on one end and to the wall on the there. I need to remove it to reinstall spindles. THere is a roset butted between the wall and the railing. Its trimmed in white, so I sanded the paint off to find the plugs for the screws that go into the wall. However there are no plugs so how do I remove it. Secondly on the other end there is plug that I removed under the railing, I found a thread and a brass nut that tightens the railing to the column but it travels clear through the opening which is the size of a quarter. I loosened the brass nut but the railing is still tight to the column I am stumped........Any advise
