Complies with electric code?

Posted by LLW on May 9th, 2005 10:17 AM

I used to have a single gang box with one outlet. The box has one line in and two lines out to feed other outlets. The original wiring was using the two backstabs and one side screw for the black wires and the white wires and a pigtail for the ground. I replaced the single gang box with a double gang box and added a second outlet. I used a short length of black to go from the unused side screw of the old outlet to side screws of the new outlet. I did similar for the white wire. I used a double pigtail for the ground. I have two pigtails coming out where all the grounds come together with a wire nut.
