My newly installed AFCI for bedroom receptacles, trips off everytime the treadmill is connected. My certified electrician tells me that this is a known problem that "certain equipments" when connected to a receptacle that is controlled by the AFCI CB, will trip the circuit (as these type of CBs are very sensitive). He also says that if a computer or a lamp is connected, it wont do that. Is this all true??
I was also told that since year 2004, there is a by-law passed in canada that all new constructions have to have an AFCI in bedroom !!!
