I recently worked on my grandmother's Montgomery Ward electric clothes dryer after my cousin's attempt. The problem is that I think the dryer temperature is too high. My reading with a temperature probe is @220 Deg.F before cooling back to @170 Deg.F. I found the vent @ the back was partially disconnected. I went ahead and removed the drum and cleaned the entire vent system and to search for other obvious problems. Then I found the blower sealing plate with spring was not in its proper position allowing a large gap. After fixing this and the vent the dryer still gets very hot. Is 220 Deg.F too hot for the operating temperature??

Thanks for your time and effort,
chuck
