I just found your earlier post and can advise a little more. For a quarter size hole, you can put a layer or two of masking tape on the inside of the door to hold the Bondo until it sets. Use a putty knife to mix and apply the Bondo from the outside and don't worry too much if a little extra gets inside where it normally can't be seen. If you have areas around the big hole with rust pitting, get all the loose rust off that you can with a wire brush and you can fill the pits with the Bondo also. Just remember you only have about 10 minutes of working time with the Bondo mixed per label directions. You will only need a glop about as big a a golf ball to have more than you will need to fill the hole.
Check the increase in the price of steel over the time you have had your door and particularly over the last 2 years. I sure don't track the price of these doors but the price of steel has more than doubled over the last 2 years after being flat or decreasing for the prior ten years.
