Deck Stain on Vinyl Siding

I own a five year old home with a deck on the east side of the house (house faces west). Last year I cleaned and stained the deck on my hands and knees/brush. The first coat of Behr clear was slow going so when a neighbor offered a sprayer for the second coat, what a treat?! Not - the overspray got on several areas of white vinyl siding. I have already tried gasoline and that did not work. Guess what? I have to do the deck over this year as areas that went on too thick with the sprayer are blistering/peeling.
Questions - Can I use a flat, belt sander (80 grit) to remove teh excess stain? Or what do you recommend? How can I get the stain off aroudn the edges/between teh house and the deck?
