As the fans usually have 1/6th horsepwer fans, they use the square root of the cost of a 1/3rd horsepower furnace fan that is doing the cooling. In other words, you would get a higher bill by running a furnace fan all the time than if you ran the attic fan all the time - and an attic fan only runs during the hottest part of the day during the months cooling is required.
