Please allow me to save you MUCH grief....forget about all those commercial Wallpaper and Wallpaper Paste removers....THEY DO NOT WORK. Other hints that I had read such as vinigar water and fabric softener mixtures, do not work well either. We worked our @&& off and thought we were making some headway with vinigar water until I read the post on this site aout using a baking soda and water mixture. WOW, we could not believe it! The poster suggested a cup of baking soda, plus a cup of water then mix with another quart of water and put into a sprayer. We used about a cup of baking soda and 2 cups of water then spead it onto the walls with a sponge or rag. Work in small a small area at a time. It doesn't need to sit long as the more moist it is, the easier it comes off. Do not let it dry. Then take a flat scrapper like a wide putty knife and the glue and remaining paper backing comes right off. Immediately wipe the walls with clean water to remove the baking soda and to notice spots you may have missed. This will also help with your final wash down of the walls after you are completely finished removing the paste. Was this post helpful? Yes: or No:
