I just purchased an older home and discovered that under the carpeting there's beautiful oak flooring. The problem which I need help with is that the carpeting had rubber padding which has since decayed and is either disintegrating or is so tightly secured to the flooring that I am not able to remove it even using a scraper. What can I do?
