I researched this just recently. We're considering a propane generator to replace the gas generator we keep for extended power outages.

Rigging a remote start button for a battery-start generator should be fairly easy...but I would check with the manufacturer of the unit you choose. Wouldn't suprise me if they sold this as an option/accessory.
