There could be a couple different things going on. 1stthe sqft rule . Generally, 400 sqft per ton. With 2800+ sqft and alot of glass, 2 3 ton units are not out of hand. Next, fan speed. If the fan is not moving enough air, it can't pick up heat to make cold. Hi speed would be in order, especially with the monsoons. If you want to, BE CAREFUL and check the motor speed taps on the motor. ONLY WITH THE 120v DISCONNECTED!!!! There are other things to check out but this is not the way to do it. The simplest thing you can do is check the split. Basically, with a thermometer, check the air going in the filter. Then check the air coming out of the register. Subtract the temp of the air coming out from the air going in. This should be, (in a perfect world) 20* +- 2 degree for the humidity. As for the TXVs, in the 13 yrs I've been doing AC, I've learned anything is possible! Heck, the TXV may have lost it's charge. Good luck. BTW, what S.E.E.R are the units?
