Carrier Air Conditioner problems

15 SEER!! Pretty good units! And your right about the fans. They may be right on the money about the flaking in the ref lines. Old system ref lines over time will cause a contaimination problem, if they were not treated correctly in the past,ie:good evacuation and a new fitler/dryer. In the ole' days, guys did not use nitrogen when brazing. If this is not done the oxidation from the heat on the copper will cause the system to be contaiminated, causing the TXV to get clogged. These guys sound like they have a line on it. And being a Carrier dealer, they'll get you up and running. Carrier has a VERY good warranty on 15 SEER units.
