I've gotten amazing results using Glidden's ULTRA exterior latex line. Most jobs I used this product on have lasted 5-10 years and I live along the Atlantic coast. One example has lasted 8 years now without any peeling blistering or cracking and that was without primer on bare cedar shingles(not recommended). Benjamin Moore's Moorestyle latex exterior flat also has held up well in this harsh climate ( 5-8 years).
But if you really want your paint job to last use a full coat of Zinsser brand primer. Hands down this product will make or break your job. No wonder they always use it on Bob Vila's programs.
