Disposer mounting gasket replacement

** I bought a replacement mounting gasket for my badger 5 In-Sink-Erator. The instructions are not too clear. They specify to disconnect the plumbing from the disposal. **

The whole disposal usually has to be removed from the sink if you're replacing the gasket between them.
