Cat urine

We are purchasing a home that has an long time history of cat urine (approx.10 yrs worth). All outer flooring has been removed. After reading many expensive horror stories we feel for the best results we should just rip down the walls and also remove the sub floor, clean and seal suds and beams and replace any insulation. Although this will be very expensive and time consuming I don't want that lingering smell on warm, humid days. Any suggestions from folks that have gone through this would be very helpful (what worked/what didn't). Thanks
