The plastic dome is held in place by four integral retainers pawls located at its lower joint edge, equally spaced 90 degrees apart. Gently insert two 1/4 inch flat blade screwdriver tips into two adjacent slots and push in to release the pawls. Lift up to tilt the dome and it will separate.
I found clothing items will migrate past the ineffective agitator edge seal and hide behind the agitator. Worse case is small items entering the drain system. I had LD (Long Drain) and FL (fluid level) error messages due to clothing wrapped around the water pump impeller. The pump may rotate, but it may not pump water. The pump motor or plastic spline coupling may be damaged if the pump impeller obstruction is not removed.
My agitator edge seal is bonded integrally with the agitator plate. I will be looking into replacing the edge seal.
