Whirlpool Parts related to Posted by noahfix on August 21st, 2005 08:22 PM In reply to dryer by Tom C on May 22nd, 2004 12:10 PM [Go to top of thread]
Hello.
The message might be old but I find the need for it just right now as I am having the same problem on my Whirlpool dryer.
I am referring to the following problem:
** I have a whirlpool dryer and when I push the button in to start it up and than release the button, the dryer stops. If I hold the push to start button in and hold it in, the dryer works fine until I release the button again. What could be the problem as to why it stops. **
One user entered the following reply:
I have seen this many times, it is usually the even heat control board or a bad motor relay. the motor relay is located behind the console. there are 4 wires leading to it; check for voltage across the two larger wires with door shut and timer on and after pushing the PTS button, if 120 vac is present, the relay is not closing, check for voltage present across other two wires, if no voltage present the ETC board is faulty; if voltage is present the relay is faulty; good luck
My Question:
Is there a website that can tell/show me where the heat control board or bad motor for the dryer are? Was this post helpful? Yes: or No:
