Wet Wall around pipe Posted by Brad Stephen on June 23rd, 2000 12:02 AM
In the unfinished area of my basement I have the main water supply coming into the house exposed. The pipe is about 30" below ground level. Around the pipe, water is seeping in and leaving water dripping down the wall and standing on the concrete floor. My plan is to fill dirt around the exterior of the house to prevent water from standing and running down the exterior wall and coming in from the area around the pipe. I do feel that the area around the pipe should be chipped out and filled. What should I use to fill this area in. I would prefer to use a premixed caulk of some type but want to be sure that what- ever I do it will last and not be a reoccuring problem.
