That is a big project. Nice to see someone doing it right for a change, and dealing with all the issues at once. Can't answer your vapor barrier question without knowing your climate. What part of thw world do you live in? (a State will do). The balance of ambient humidity and heating or cooling requirements, has a lot to do with the proper installation of a barrier.
