A carpet stretcher is a cheap rental, but to be honest, a carpet installer is an even better deal. For a minimal service call and time, you can have the job done right. There is no heavy lifting, cutting or installing here, just a stretch. I would contract. In fact I would have probably included it in the sales agreement.
