McPherson toilets came in a "Twin Valve" automatic model and in a "Manual Valve" model. Most sold were the Twin valve models. My toilet was the twin valve model and wanted to overflow. I fixed my Twin Flush valve problem by making it the "manual" valve version. I used a Moen Single Handle shower faucet. I removed the twin flush valve and installed the Moen faucet in the wall. I connected the fresh water supply into the fitting where the "mixed temp" water would normally go up to the shower head. I used fittings and connected the "grinder jet" or top washing machine hose to the "HOT" side of the faucet and the bottom washign machine hose "Flush jet" to the "COLD" side of the faucet. To make it flush...turn the faucet to the "HOT" (hottest) setting and pull the knob on the faucet. This allows the water to enter the bowl. When the bowl is as full as I want, I push in the faucet knob to stop the water. THEN turn the faucet handle to the "COLD" (coldest) setting and pull the faucet knob, this causes the water to be pumped out of the toilet. After it gurgles and makes the suction sounds...then just push in the knob to stop. Now go fix those leaky twin flush valves by doing what I did.
