The only way to tape a digital channel and watch one is to have 2 boxes. However, you can hook the cable into a 2 way splitter. One Leg of the splitter goes to the cable box ( Cable in) the other leg goes to the cable input on the tv. Out of the Box use a cable line to go to the input of the vcr. From there use rca cables(red,white, yellow) on video out of the vcr into the video input on the tv. You will be able to record on your vcr on the video input of the tv and then switch the tv input to antenna and watch expaned cable, not digital but better than nothing
