We are looking at purchasing a home in the San Francisco Bay area and since most of the homes are over 40 years old we find that many have tube and knob wiring. I understand that this type of wiring can be a fire hazard - would you please provide some general information on this type of wiring and a very rough idea of the cost associated with replacing (estimate house size = 1200 sq. ft.).
