I had a sump pump installed outside my house in a hole with a liner 38 years ago. The pump moves so much in the hole that the pump does not pump out the water unless I pull on the hose or jiggle the hose. What can I do to prevent this from happening. I got 2 inches of water in my basement yesterday due to the fact the pump stopped working, but worked after I jiggled the pump. Should I install another liner or put a large plastic pot in the hole to hold the pump more securely. Please help me with this situation. Thank you for your help.
