Site for Great Wooden Shed plans Posted by Doug Ellwood on February 22nd, 1998 09:08 AM
Four years ago I looked around my community for a good wooden garden shed and to great avail could not find anything to suit my needs. They were either cedar (very expensive) or slapped together with cheap materials and construction. So I decided to fill the void with a well constructed shed with suitable design to fit in any backyard. I found that my customers rather than trying to find a tree to hide it behind, were looking out their kitchen window to locate it visible to sight. I am considering starting a web site to fill a void here now. After searching the net, and getting a large response from people all around the world, I have discovered there are no sites for sheds which offer really good shed plans. I am going to, in the next few weeks, have a site which offers Colour photos, easy installation plans, cut lists, material lists, and little tips and tricks I have learned over the years. It seems all the shed guys want to sell their product (hard to ship) and draftsmen want to sell line drawings. I 've built over 1000 buildings and I am a carpenter not a draftsman (mind you I can work my way through CAD progs). The last thought I've had was to offer online consultations with voice phone progs for problems in construction. This would be mostly for enjoyment rather than money, however, I would probably charge $20US for the complete package. Your thoughts are appreciated. Doug / Dell Sheds Inc.
