Bathroom Vent Fan

Posted by Homewrecker on October 18th, 2005 10:02 AM

In my bathroom is a typical ceiling mounted vent fan that has a light (100 watt bulb), a night light and obviously a fan. This fan vents to the outside using a plastic flexi-hose. My question is can insulation be placed over the fan housing or will this get too hot with a light bulb? I am afraid to cover with insulation, but if I don’t it seems I am leaving a hole in my ceiling for my valuable heat and A/C to disappear into the attic.
