I recall seeing somewhere that there is an underlayment for use when putting a wood shingle roof directly over a solid wooden surface. I have a small peaked roof over the front door that currently has wood shingles nailed directly to the solid wood underlayment. As you can imagine, most of the shingles have rotted and I want to replace them with new wood shingles. What is the name of the plastic mesh underlayment that I have seen on TV for allowing ventilation space between the solid wood underlayment and the wood shingle? Appreciate your responses.
