Don - if your remotes do not work it is most likely due to the terminals inside the remote receiver and the remote sending units being different. There are switches that show a (+) or (0) or (-) that all need to be aligned for the remote system to work. Example of a working system:
remote sending unit (in car or house):
++--+-++--+-+
receiver attached to garage opener:
++--+-++--+-+
if any of those are mis-matched the signal will not trigger the opening of the door.
