Insulating an attic

Posted by yakimapete on October 23rd, 2005 01:56 PM

We are in the early stages of turning our attic into living space. We recently had a ridge vent put in and I am in the process of installing soffit vents and channels to keep the insulation off of the roof decking.

Question:

What do I do with the spots where the space between the rafters doesn't reach the eaves (where it runs into a valley)? How do I ensure proper ventilation behind my insulation? It is still exposed to the ridge vent on top but what's to prevent moisture buildup if it's not vented at the bottom?

Thank you
