All the issues that the Lopi product had have been addressed. They discovered that sometimes there was excessive air coming in through the airwash system that could cause inefficient burn and pellet piling. This is mostly in higher altitudes and was a very sporatic problem ie. there was no specific vent configuration etc. that was causing the problems. As far as having to clean the stove once a week that is life with a pellet stove and honestly there are some that require more frequent cleaning than that. I think that people need to remember that pellet stoves have only been built for 20 years and there is still much to be learned. I personally own a Lopi Yankee and have no complaints. It has the air wash upgrade kit installed and runs beautifully. We have over 250 Avalon/Lopi units installed in our area and have yet to have any major issues with them. An good example is that last year we did approximately 4500-5000.00 worth of parts for Whitfield pellet stoves with approximately 400-450 installed in the area. We did maybe 500.00 in parts for the Lopi/Avalon stoves. I think those figures speak for themselves.
