leaking shower head

I have the same situation as SALIBU . My shower faucet is always dripping . We have replaced the shower head and are now following the directions of Doug Seibert. Doug if you are there could you be a little more specific on how to remove the stem nut.
Do we replace the handle and turn clock wise or counter clockwise? I do not want the stem to break. Thankyou
