* Look at gap above door and frame from side to side.. If the gap is larger above the door than on the hinge side, that indicates that the door is being wedged down, use the prybar to lift the door.
* If the gap above the door is smaller than the gap above the hinge, then the door is being wedged up. Take a prybar and pry at the top of the door above the door knob.
* In either case while you are prying, turn the knob to withdraw the plunger out of the slot.
