We're building a new home and have ordered a pre-wire for later installation of a ceiling fan. The contractor has cut a hole at the 'V' of our vaulted ceiling to place the fan in the center of the room. However, we are concerned that when we try to install a ceiling fan, we won't be able to get a professional looking installation unless we can mount the ceiling fan flush with the ceiling. With the pre-wire directly in the 'V', we're afraid that we won't be able to cover the hole in the ceiling with the fan canopy. Is it standard industry practice to install a fan from the 'V' of a vaulted ceiling? If not, what kind of special methods would be required to use the pre-wire as is, or should we request that it be moved down to a flat surface on the ceiling? Your assistance is greatly appreciated!!
