We have decided to use a Fiber-Cement Siding (equal to James Hardie Plank) to replace our old cedar wood siding. The installation instructions call for a weather-resistive barrier. I heard a story that the barrier AND siding made this house so "tight" that it could not "breathe" and caused the wood studs to rot. We live in Atlanta, Georgia. Very HUMID. Is this a problem? I have spent hours on the internet reading about Fiber-Cement Siding and have heard nothing but good things. Please advise.
