Freezer temeprature too high!

The door not closing tight could cause warmer than normal temperatures in a freezer. That could be cause by a bad door seal but I really doubt it would be responsible for the freezer temperature only being 32°F unless there was a large, gaping ripe in it and even then, it would be doubtful.

A freezer should be A LOT closer to 0°F than just at or slightly below freezing.

There is no 'vacuum pump' used in any freezer.

What we need is the appliance's complete model number so we can look up what design of freezer you're dealing with. If you post that, we may be able to suggest what to look for. You can find tips for locating the model and serial number identification tag on your appliances in the 'Repair Parts' section of my web site linked below.

BTW. In the mean time, I suggest you look for somewhere to store your frozen stuff from the freezer, if it hasn't been spoiled and gone bad already being at only 32°F. :(
