My partner and I recently bought an 1947 model house. we've removed all the old carpet to expose the hardwood floors, then came the kitchen floor...three layers of old vinyl type coverings on the original 1/8" fiber board glued to the sub floor which is oak hardwood. We've removed almost all the coverings down to the hardwood, but some remains due to the original adhesive, how can I get this up ? score it and use a remover ? sand ? HELP !! We want to end up with refinished hardwood.
