Dryvet--need to know trustworthy signs for moisture damage

Looking at a home that has dryvet on front porch so far looks "Dry" but I need a trustworthy way to inspect for moisture...oh yeah I forgot to mention where we live is quite humid all year long...how does humidity affect Dryvet? Thanks...
