We have lived in our Philadelphia suburbs Ranch house which has a relativly flat roof (not sure of pitch) for 46 years. A year and a half ago we had the Gutter Helmet installed. Now whenever we get snow we have icicles hanging all along the gutters which we never had before. When I called Gutter Helment they shifted the blame and told me that it was a insulation and ventilation problem with the house. Then they told me that I could go around the house with a broom and knock the icicle down. Of course when the icicles drip we get water all over our front stoop and walk which freezes creating a liability. Also when the icicles melt they drip all around the foundation and splash up onto the walls.
Our neighbor has another gutter protection system and does not get the icicles.
