Steel Shims

I am thinking of buying a nine year old house. I had a home inspector evaluate the home. While in the crawl space under he found that the original builder used wooden shims instead of steel. He suggested we have that changed before buyig.

I don't have any indea how much cost is involved and whether this should impact my decision to buy. We really like the house.
